CAROLINE is the chair and co-founder of the Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme and Festival Director of the International Tourism Film Festival Africa. The ITFFA is a programme of the STPP. The focus of the STPP is to drive change across the tourism industry thus making it more sustainable. Caroline is deeply entrenched in tourism and spends time travelling across South Africa to engage with tourism stakeholders in urban, peri-urban and rural South Africa.

Caroline is a hands-on change agent, who makes it her business to talk to as many tourism stakeholders as possible, helping them move into sustainable tourism. Caroline has travelled to more than 120 towns to assist tourism businesses and municipalities with sustainable tourism awareness, development of tourism plans, responsible tourism implementation and community tourism development. Caroline regularly presents training for the STPP on Sustainable Tourism Awareness. Caroline also proactively engages the industry at various forums, committees and boards to ensure that her grassroots experience and knowledge are incorporated into policies, standards and planning initiatives.

She has been instrumental in many changes at the regulatory level to create an enabling environment for Sustainable Tourism. She represents sustainable tourism issues at the parliamentary portfolio committee regularly. Caroline also regularly appears as a guest speaker at various countrywide tourism forums. Caroline is an editor and contributor to several publications.
