CIFFT General Secretary
Influenced by family businesses, quickly decides to stop studying and starts work. After a few years and several experiences in Portugal and Spain, he finds inspiration in tourism which leads him to return to study and finish his degree in Tourism at University Institute of Maia – ISMAI, Portugal.
In 2008, he was invited to join ART&TUR – International Tourism Film Festival and after 2 years (2010) he assume the Executive Direction of the Festival. His passion and professionalism quickly led him to reach the direction of the Festival in 2014.
In 2017, after 10 years dedicated to ART&TUR Festival, Hugo was invited to the position of General Secretary of CIFFT – International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals. Position that still holds up to today.
Hugo is also Jury member in some of the most prestigious Tourism Film Festivals of the world and he´s the responsible for the Portuguese and Spanish language Countries Market at Cannes Corporate Media & Tv Awards.
Hugo likes to face his fears … and he loves to overcome them with his perseverance.
